Pics at the park

At The Park
This part of this journey brings us to the enviornments thats I get to experience from time to time. Living in city people tend to think it's all concrete and tall buildings. Depending on what part of the city you live in you'll just may happen to see things like this. This is a scene from a video shoot I was apart of, out in East New York, Brooklyn. Roses can grow from concrete.

Just Chill!

Peace

People tend to always catch their pets always in motion. They are jumping, playing, running etc.  Not to many have a time when it's time to just chill and relax.  In this picture I happened to do just that. People have negative opinions about cats. They are lazy, mean etc.  I will say that this cat is very cool.  Just look at the peace.

The Expression

Expression
One thing I love about using people as subjects, is the expressions that they give off in certain photos. In this photo you can get one of two expressions. THis can be the "I'm tired it's been a long day", or it could be "Some sh*t is going down, I want to see it but I really don't want to see it".  I love my family because it seems, that we have this ability where our faces carry what are feelings truly are when our mouths can't express it.

Beach Days

The Man
I like going to the beach. It's even better when you go with people you know your going to have fun with. The sounds of the ocean, the feel of the hot sun on your skin and a bottle of water can make your day just right. It also helps you clear your mind and just relax, while you think.  This photo says just that to me.  Relax and think.

Wife and Cousin

First and First

When family meets it's a great thing. This day there was a bbq in the court and we were all there hanging. My gf (now my wife) and my first cousin were hanging out while I was running around taking pictures and chatting away. I got to stop and take this shot of them together on the bench.  This picture was awesome because the shutter and speed and flash gave this shot that faded DOF look. Sometimes blurry in a still shot can work, if you know what you are doing. I'm pretty nifty.

Respect

David sun
Dave is one photogenic guy.  The best photo's are the ones you really don't plan for. The actual subject in photo is the hat. I bought this hat at the 2012 International African Arts Festival. We went to brunch and I wore the hat. The hat was a hit! It just so happens that Dave found a way to make this photo even better.

Through my window

Windowed

Taking a jump to a different group and into the world of xtras. The xtras play there part by just adding filling to a scene or enviornment. They are not the focal part of the scene but do their part.  This photo is of a family member standing outside of a door. It just so happens that the way the door was positioned allowed me to capture him outside and what was inside as well. You would think this was photoshopped but it wasn't. This was all good timing and camera work.

Friends

Tres Amios

I had to think hard to see what picture I wanted to add next. So I decided to introduce some more supporting cast to this film reel. The day was just perfect when I took this picture. The lighting, the colors and the pose.  DOF (Depth OF Field) was sharp. This is one of my favorite pictures that I have ever taken. It was also the first time I took my camera with me outside. I chose this picture also, because these three guys here have been a bright side to my over 25 life.  I grew up not having my blood brother around, so whenever I can meet other black males that are honest, not about BS and share commons goals with then you become not just my friend but my brother for life. Believe it or not it's hard for men to find true friends out in this world.

Cat Look

Cats and Laps

Cats have this high alertness for almost anything. I think my cats alertness is always on level 10. Any bump, beep or chirp and he is on it. The only time he isn't like that is if I'm walking around making noise.  I use to have a computer chair but thanks to this cats claws, I had to throw it away.  In this shot I was playing around with my depth of field  while he was perched on the top of this chair.  I happened to turn on the laptop and as soon as the windows noise came on (I'm sure you know that duhn, duhn duhn) his attention was drawn to that. It allowed me to take a great picture though.

Sporty

Sporty Girl

I like to take different shots and as you will see, many of my shots are taken while in or around the elements of grass and greenery. What's most interesting is that I'm allergic to specific plants and really shouldn't be around it. This photo was taken at Red Hook Park, during a soccer game between a Haitian and Edcuadorian teams. It was a really hot, cloudy and hazy day out there too.  What I realize about woman is that they like sports. If not playing, more so watching and attending sporting events. I think women treat sporting events like going to a club. Style, Style, Style. Women will dress down for a Basketball game, Boxing Match, Hockey and Football. If your a guy and want to meet a lady. Forget the club and head to your nearest sporting event.

Day Dreamin

Day Dreamin

As I continue on creating this film, I sometimes have to close my eyes and reflect on the images that my eyes have crossed and my mind needs to process. This shot was taken during a #picnic my wife and I had in the park. The sun was really bright so I had a few adjustments with a little help with post processing to get this mild dream like coloring. Some people may take this as a morbid shot but not really. I'm just resting my eyes lol.

Meet The Cat!

The Cat!

I've owned dogs, turtles, birds. I've had cats in my household growing up but none were raised by me from a kitten. They always belonged to someone else. Not this handsome guy here. I had him from 2 months old.  He had a brother who died at 6 months (you will get to see his pics later on while I explain his story). It's interesting how a pet can make a great companion. People think animals don't pick up your characteristics as a person but this guy here acts like me in so many ways. I think he is my animal spirit. This shot was taken in my hallway. Cats are curious creatures, so when I was trying to set up he kept putting his face in front of the lens. So when I finally got in a good position, he came back and I just snapped him really quick. When I looked at the screen, I was very impressed by the outcome.  So let's welcome the next cast member.

Meet The Wife

Lovely Wife
With any movie there are always others that play a supporting role. This beautiful woman here has played a very big supporting role into the creation of this movie. I remember when we met . It was a very subtle thing, but I wanted to do a nasty dance with her. She had a bf at the time (for some reason I have the "I love your girl" syndrome, lol).  Some years later she is now my wife.  I tell ya the force is strong within myself.   This shot represents the sexy, that I saw in her.  My own model, supporter and tag team partner.

Journey through my eye

The First Act
I've owned a DSLR for a few years now. Actually, I have bought two. Both Canon T2i and both have been great for me. The first one I bought, I actually lost on a night out during Veteran's Day. How Great?! I'm glad I didn't have any real pictures on it.  I wanted to show the world what I view through my lens and how I capture the things I catch with my mind's eye. Instead of just posting up pictures, my creative mind wanted to do more. So I will display each photo in a letterboxed perspective. This is going to be a movie that I hope you enjoy.

Welcome to Twosign's Eye!
